“Target” was bred by Hirsche Herefords, Alberta, Canada. Target is polled and offers complete outcross genetics to Australian breeders. In his Canadian EPD’s Target is in the top 10% for calving ease, birth weight, weaning weight, yearling weight, maternal, maternal calving ease, scrotal, rib eye area, MPI & FMI.
Two calves by Target are very pleasing and showing early potential. We are eagerly awaiting more (expected soon!).

- Well marked, dark coat with soft skin & hair type;
- Well hooded eyes & protective eye lashes;
- Both eyes 100% pigmented;
- Moderate size – frame score 6.5;
- Sound feet & legs, very mobile;
- Very alert, friendly & quiet temperament;
- Reported to be “impeccably behaved” at the AI collection centre;
- Very adequate scrotal development and strong serving capacity during semen collection;
- Semen independently tested at Charles Sturt University and reported to be “quite satisfactory to give an acceptable AI result”.
- Physical weights & scans are fully consistent with EBVs (& vice versa);
- D935’s grand-dam goes back to “Wirruna Poll Herefords” which boasts having the most comprehensive and disciplined performance records of any stud in Australia;
- D935’s maternal grand-sire, “Allendale National”, is arguably the best whiteface bull bred in Australia for many decades. “National” is a trait leader for nine EBVs an achievement equalled by only two other bulls anywhere in the world.
- D935 is considered safe to join to heifers.
