Redgate is a committed supporter of the Veterinary Science degree course at Charles Sturt University, Wagga Wagga, NSW.

CSU is Australia's sixth largest University and the only one outside a state capital city offering a Vet Science degree.  The course curriculum places special emphasis on food animal production.

Redgate lead a ’philanthropic charge’ in 2005 to encourage industry support for the Vet Science course.  When the course started , Redgate coordinated a group of Hereford breeders from southern NSW and Victoria to donate Hereford cattle to CSU.  These Herefords were the first cattle in the CSU herd.  This herd is essential for students’ practical work and for ongoing veterinary research at the University.

There is now a growing list of donors & supporters: beef, dairy & horse breeders, veterinarians in practice, veterinary drug companies and other businesses allied to the livestock industries.

Robert O’Reilly has been a member of the Management Committee of the Charles Sturt Veterinary Science Foundation since the beginning of 2007.

Redgate provides funding for an annual Redgate Poll Herefords Scholarship that is available to any student enrolled in the Vet Science degree course.
